Old Hotel

A Victorian style hotel set in present day has spent some time collecting dust after a sudden abandonment. An Old Abandoned Hotel inspired by my love for old architecture and games like Resident Evil.
I chose to use baked lighting in lieu of lumen for practice with the lighting workflow I use in my current role. The goal of this project was to make something to grow and show off my current skillset and get some practice along the way with trim sheet usage, modular construction, and lighting. The Trim material I created for the environment did a lot of the heavy lifting for the piece. I created several smart materials based off of different primary materials to help keep the uniquely textured props looking the same. I learned a lot about making useful trims, lighting, and master materials along the way. Towards the end of the project when everything was done I decided to learn Unreal's Sequencer to render out a flythrough video and get the most out of my shots. This project was huge for my growth as an Artist.

Made in Unreal Engine 5, Maya, Substance, ZBrush, and a little help from photoshop. Breakdown post to follow.
All Assets, materials, textures, etc. are my own with absolutely zero AI. The framed photo contents are an exception. The pictures were found on unsplash and are royalty free. They have been modified and processed to fit the vibe for the environment.

A huge shoutout to Clinton Crumpler, Matt Pollard, and Matt Young. Thank you all for your critique and feedback and for helping me get the most out of this project!
